Jhong mei - private residence

The latest schoolwork. This is the final part of a course I posted earlier on. The brief was to design and visualize either private or public space and pay attention to the different factors in the space. How to move from space to space, how to use different heights in the flooring and the ceilings, how to use light and what kind of material is used.

Jhong mei is a fictional city home with a luxury and an Asian vibe. The dark tones and lowered ceilings makes the kitchen and bedroom feels intimate while the lighting and wooden panels makes the whole apartment feels warm and sophisticated.

School - space studies

Schoolwork. In this class we have been studying different parts of a space. The enterances, windows, moving between two floors, how to combine fuctions in open space ect...

To every lesson we collected reference pictures about the topic and then showed the spaces we have created. These pictures have been made in ArchiCad and Photoshop.

Empty Vatican Museum

Early morning in Vatican museum. It felt amazing to wonder around the huge, enormous halls all alone in peace and solitude. The architecture and patterns in the walls, floors and ceilings were so beautiful! Since I love statues and this kind of monumental architecture, it was such an experience to see these spaces - normally packed with people - totally empty.

Curtains in my parents house

In Espoo in my parents house there are some hand sewed curtains I would like to show to you. Some years ago we did big two sided curtains (2,75 m) between the kitchen/dining and our livingroom by using diffenet colours of raw silk, cotton and some other fabricks.. Now few weeks ago we did again with my mom new two side curtains to the tv room that used to be my room. In the tv room we also made new window curtains and recovered the footstools with old pillow covers and same fabrics used for the other stuff.

What's up?

Hello! I've been silent for a while because of all the madness around school. I'm designing and doing a wooden chair, designing a passive / zero energy house with my classmates, finishing an office for one teacher, making my portfolio and visiting cards (well the portfolio is finally ready! I'll share it later...) and on top of all this I'm filling all the papers and forms to apply as an exchange student to Kyoto! Super exited and scared at the same time.

But what's up with the apartment? Not much I'm afraid :)

To the toilet I hanged up some Shohei Otomos works and one samurai photo from Vogue Hommes Japan.
I also bought a small goat fur to the living room. Still stuck to the black and while color palette :)
