Vintage

It has been a while since I last took photos on location. My aunt's ateljé with Gea's vintage clothing were such an inspiring combo to shoot now when I'm slowly putting my portfolio together.

End of an Era

I started this blog when I moved into my first own aparment - and now it's time to move out.

Four years went by so fast but looking back it has been great! It was kind of sad to take down all the elements that made the place feel like home, but on the other hand I can't wait to see what will happen next.

Some old detail photos of the aparment.

After coming back from Japan I changed few things in order to get a new atmosphere.

Even though this blog became to life through this apartment, I will keep on posting under the same name untill I come up with something new!

Graduation work

salatekstiä :)

It's finally done! Last Thursday I had my final presentation and basically I'm done with my school. On above there is a virtual replica of the book I made about my final project in Bali. Unfortunately it is only in Finnish, but there is an abstract in English and many many pictures.

My original plan was to share the process here on real time, but since the actual doing took so much time and energy, in the end I only made few posts from Bali. Now after the presentation there is again time to breath and share the work - better late than never :)

Tribe

Another photoshoot with the Papuan costumes. This time we went with my friend Dijay and his brother Ary to the coffee and coconut plantation for some outdoor pictures. It is always so much fun to see how people transforming into different characters with the costumes and arroundings.

Shells

Handmade shell jewellery from Papua New Guinea. After a long persuasion the shopkeeper of this one primitive art shop finally let me borrow some of his shell jewellery.

With Cinta and Maija we had a photoshoot by the river. The strong stream, heavy necklaces and rocky riverbed were quite a challenge but great fun! Can't wait to do one more photoshoot with these  primitive art pieces.

Ruby

One of the best things about working here in Bali is the wide wide selection of all kind of natural materials! This was such an amazing shop for stone sinks and tiles. Any size and any colour. From here we did buy two sinks for the rooms. Can't wait to see them installed!

Jungle book

Some days back I found this rustic abandoned hotel and every since first laying my eyes on it I wanted to take some photos there. Today we went there with my friend Dijay, but a bit too late since we kind of ran out of light. We managed to get some pictures with traditional Balinese clothing but maybe some day soon we have to give this place a revisit, with a tripod.

Working time

Back in Ubud and started my work here.

Im doing my graduation work here at my friends' hotel. We are renovating two old rooms and slowly the plans are getting togther. So far I have only made the data of the rooms with all the measurements and material analyses, but hopefully soon we can start to take down the old ceiling and floor tiles ect.

I'll try to post more about the process once we get it really started!

Here are some photos of one of the rooms we will renovate.
